The Org Health Scan report is a powerful new report that includes over 60 tests that you can run on your Salesforce Org. You can get to the Org Health Scan report by right-clicking the snapshot icon and hovering over the Optimize option. You can also click on the Options menu in the top left. We've broken these tests out into 5 distinct buckets:
- Security Risks
- Compliance Audit
- Technical Debt
- Best Practices
- Code Quality
When you click on one of the tests in the left column, you will be presented with options to customize the test parameters that make sense to you and your org needs. We've made assumptions on what is considered passing vs warning vs failing the test. You can manually adjust these numbers if necessary. If you've made adjustments to these parameters and you want to go back to our defaults, click the Manage Properties button in the top right. This allows you to reset the values in all tests, all tests in a certain category, or a specific test, if its highlighted. You can also import/export selected tests into an xml file.
When you highlight a test in the left column, and choose your parameters in the right column, you can click on the Preview Report button to view your results.
In the above example, we are looking at Too Many Required Fields On Page Layouts. Based on the parameters at right, we will pass if less than 5% of page layouts have less than 4 required fields. It will warn us if between 5% and 15% of page layouts have 4 or more required fields, and we will fail if more than 15% have 4 or more required fields. Lets see how we did:
We have failed this test because 35 of our 191(approximately 19%) page layouts have more than 4 required fields. You get the page layout name, the comment column tells you the details of how many required fields were found on the page layout, and then a lightning link so you can make changes if necessary.
If you'd like to look at multiple tests at once, you can check the box next to each one on the first tab. This will pull all selected tests into one report on the Display Report tab. They will be broken out into their own tables for clear delineation.
You can right click and export this view if you'd like. And as always, there is a schedule report tab if you'd like this report to be run and sent on a schedule.
