Use Quick Deploy to push metadata into a production account without testing apex code coverage. This is useful for getting a deployment ready to go, and then scheduling the actual push for a later date. Quick Deploy minimizes the down time for a production org. This interface is available by right clicking a deployment arrow on the desktop and also from the Options Menu.

Metazoa Snapshot Quick Deploy feature allows you to schedule metadata deployment to a production account without having to retest the apex code coverage. This enables faster deployment and offers the flexibility to schedule it at your convenience.
Quick Deploy Steps
-
Prepare for Deployment: Before using the Quick Deploy feature, you need to run a validation deployment. Start by selecting the "Deploy Metadata" option in Snapshot.
-
Run Apex Tests: Choose to run all Apex tests during this validating deployment. This checks for any errors without making actual changes to your metadata.
-
Validation Deployment: Once your Apex tests are selected, proceed with the validating deployment by choosing "Deploy Metadata". You should receive a confirmation that the validation was successful.
-
Access Quick Deploy Interface: After a successful validation, go to the Quick Deploy interface in Snapshot. Here, you'll find your Quick Deploy ID and the date of the validating push.
Quick Deployment
Immediate Deployment
If you wish to execute the deployment immediately:
- Visit the Quick Deploy interface.
- If the fields are filled with your deployment information, press the "Quick Deployment" button to initiate the process.
Scheduled Deployment
If you want to schedule your deployment for a future date:
- Set up the Quick Deployment as a one-time event for the desired future date.
- Click the "Quick Deployment" button to confirm the settings.
After initiating the Quick Deployment, whether immediate or scheduled, you can send out the results via email as needed.
Considerations and Constraints
- If another deployment is conducted on the same org while a Quick Deploy is scheduled or in progress, it may cause the Quick Deploy to fail.
- The validating deployment date, as visible in the Quick Deploy interface, is valid for 10 days. After this period, you will need to run a new validating deployment before a Quick Deploy can be initiated.
- Always ensure to validate the setup in the Quick Deploy dialog. If the fields are empty, the setup hasn't been done correctly.
Conclusion
Quick Deploy provides an efficient and convenient way to manage metadata deployments in your production environment. Keep track of your deployments and remember to run validation before scheduling Quick Deployments. With this, you can successfully leverage Metazoa Snapshot for effective Salesforce org management.
