The Compare Assets interface will show you the differences between the source and destination snapshot. You can move assets between the two snapshots as well. There are additional tabs for comparing the profile and permission set differences between the source and destination. This interface is available by right clicking a deployment arrow on the desktop and also from the Options Menu.

Metazoa Snapshot Compare Metadata provides users with an interface to compare assets, profiles, and permission sets between two desktop items (source and destination). It provides a detailed view of XML differences, items that are missing or present in either the source or destination, and the ability to move assets.
Compare Assets
The Compare Assets feature allows you to contrast the various assets present in the source and the destination. This includes items that are either missing or available in each different source and destination.
How to use Compare Assets:
- Select the deployment arrow.
- Choose 'Compare Assets' from the dropdown menu.
- The Compare Assets interface will display the source on the left and the destination on the right, with a list of all different assets.
For instance, the 'Account Custom Settings' might appear in the source but not in the destination, and 'Bill Custom' may appear in the destination but not in the source.
Compare Differences
You can view the differences from the XML differences window. This window will show you the variations in the objects, such as 'Account Object.' This feature helps you get a clear understanding of what is missing or what is in excess in either the source or the destination.
For example, the 'Account Contact Role' can be exactly the same in both the source and the destination, and this can be verified using the XML differences window.
Move Assets
The Move Assets feature allows you to modify the snapshots. You can move assets to the left (source) or right (destination). Once you move an asset, the central button will turn into a 'Save' button, providing an interface for you to save your changes.
Please note that moving assets only changes the snapshots and not any Salesforce accounts. This feature is essentially a quick method for synchronizing two different snapshots or merging them.
Compare Profiles
The 'Profiles' tab facilitates comparison of source versus destination profiles. These are aligned, with all identical items placed on the same line, and any differing items will be shown separately.
For example, a profile that's present in the source but absent in the destination, or vice-versa, will be visible. The tool also aligns all the profiles by name for easier comparison.
Permission Sets
The Compare Metadata view also allows for comparison of permission sets. These comparisons can be made by different classes such as Apex classes, application visibility, tab visibility, etc.
This comparison feature is highly useful in analyzing what's the same and what's different in the source and destination.
Summary
In summary, Metazoa Snapshot Compare Metadata provides a highly efficient and user-friendly interface to compare, analyze, and manage your Salesforce snapshots.
