The Relationship Matrix report allows you to compare two metadata types and how they may be related to each other.
On the first tab "Select Related Assets" you will choose the 2 metadata types you'd like to pull into the report. It is important to remember that the top metadata type needs to be able to reference the bottom asset(s). For example, you can choose reports and the bottom asset could be custom objects, because reports reference custom objects, however, you can't switch these because custom objects don't reference reports.
We have prebuilt relationship matrices that you can choose from the dropdown in the top right, or you could choose to build a custom matrix.
When you select your metadata types at left, you have an option to choose individual assets, shift/command to select multiple assets or if you make no selections, it will choose all assets of that type.
When you've made your selections you'll navigate to the Preview Report tab. On the preview report tab you can select one of the relationships and it will show you the xml of the assets and how they are related.
If the report looks good to you and you'd like to add another matrix to your report, first, press the "Manage Report" button at the top left. You'll be presented with a new window that allows you to add this matrix to the list of reports.
All matrices added to this list will appear in the Display Report tab.
You have options on the display report tab to hide empty columns and rows. This will help to consolidate the report.
